ABOUT ME
Hello Hello!
My name is Omaka Schultz and I am Storyboard Artist/Director with a bachelor's degree in 2d animation from Savannah College of Art and Design.
After college, I spent a few years traveling and working odd jobs to develop my life, management, and salesmanship skills. Eventually I found my way back into the world of comics, working on a children's comic called Hero Cats and spending my weekends selling art at Art shows and conventions.
In 2018, I got the opportunity to join Floyd County Productions as a Story Artist for the ninth season of FXX's Archer. After that season wrapped up, I moved on to Floyd County's first feature length film, America: The Motion Picture! Due to my focus on problem solving and story development, I was promoted to Storyboard Director while working on the film. Since then I've worked on a myriad of other projects within the studio, which have not yet been announced.
As someone who didn't go straight from art school to an art job, I have a unique perspective on self and team management that has served me well in dealing with some of the most difficult and rigidly scheduled projects in the studio. Daunting problem solving and artistic collaboration is what gets me out of bed in the morning. And what I love about Storyboarding in particular is how it manages to touch on every aspect of creating a piece of film or television; from story-telling, to design, to acting, to directing, etc. It lets an artist have their hands in many pots, and that is my jam!
